In teams your authority should not be based on your job title

When you want to lead, really lead a group a team or a tribe, it is you gained authority that counts, not job titles.

There are different ways to look at authority. One is based, of course, in hierarchy or administrative power. But this authority will not make you a leader.

Leadership is based on vision, human interaction, the way you address your team and surf the conflicts. You can't just hope that people follow you because someone tells them to do it. Maybe they will, for sometime, but most of them will eventually leave.

So, if you are a leader or are aspiring to become one, what are you doing to gain your authority.
